Osage Hunter Recurve
<p>Known by many names: Osage Orange,<em> Maclura pomifera</em>, Hedgeapple, Horse Apple, Bodark, Prairie Hedge, Bois d' arc. It has long been regarded as the best self-bow species on planet earth. Bois d' arc is a French word meaning "bow wood". Osage scores over 2000 lbf (9.1kN) of force on the Janka Scale, making it one of North Americas most durable species, along with being highly rot resistant. Folks have dug up 100 year old Osage fence posts and still managed to make a new bow with it. Most importantly, it features a near perfect ratio of compression-tension strength, allowing for aggressive, low mass, and fast shooting designs.</p><p> </p><p>The Recurve Hunter pushes those limits. with phenomenal arrow cast and impressive speeds, this bow packs a punch in a relatively small package. This bow is highly maneuverable allowing you to navigate technical terrain with ease, and durable enough for multiday hunting or camping excursions. These bows have exceptionally smooth draw cycles, and are a pleasure to shoot.</p><p>We typically run about a 3 week lead time on these bows but do our best to keep them in stock.
